It is the last day of August and time to start a new month. I love the end of one month and the start of another. For me this is a powerful time in my practice.
This is when I take a focused detailed look back at the past month and what I managed to accomplish as well as what my magick has manifested. Far too often we are so focused on doing or training and never really take time to see the growth that we end on not growing. we become discouraged by thinking and feeling we have made little or no progress in weeks or months. However, by making a point to review the month and take in the details. we see the progress and we cannot start the new month planning to work from our new skill level and position.
Metaphysical training as I say a lot is very much like physical training. if your goal is to do 100 pushups a day and you keep doing daily pushups you will get better yes true. but pushups are very easy to test just see how many totals you can do in one go. and work up from there. and you will build strength. however, is you only do the same number every day they will get easier, but your body adapts to that base setting it maintains strength but does not gain any more.
Our magickal Training is the same we MUST push past our comfort zone to make progress to reach the goals we seek. To do that we must also be realistic and truthful of what we are doing our functional reliable skill level and progress. and review the month and our work at the end give us data and information to then plan out how to proceed in the new month. and how we can challenge ourselves.
I see it all the time with Dragon Magick 101 people say i don't want to start it till i get this skill or this skill down. when DM 101 is a beginner course. it is designed to teach to challenge and to help develop the skills needed. with no prior experience needed.
Take charge of your life today don't wait if you have a goal in your life or practice start taking real steps to reach it. and hold yourself to full account on the progress yes, we make mistakes and have setbacks it is all part of learning life is hard. but if we keep our eyes on our goals and learn from setbacks and mistakes, we truly can master ourselves and our life.
